Novieta Tourisia

Combining her background in community-based ecotourism and marketing communications with her love of arts and culture, Novieta founded Cinta Bumi Artisans with a big bundle of passion and purpose: to sustain culture, traditions and deep-rooted art of Indonesian indigenous communities by developing collaboration with local communities, encouraging ecological consciousness, and sharing the love of art to others through artisanal craftsmanship and sustainable innovation.

She works with barkcloth artisans in four villages in the Bada Valley (Poso, Central Sulawesi), and ikat weavers from East Sumba among other collaborative partnerships, to reintroduce some of the almost-forgotten cultural heritage by designing and creating change-making wearable arts that have positive influence in cultural preservation, environmental sustainability, and solidarity economy.
